Ottawa hockey is a mess.... Junior A teams looking after their pockets.

Junior hockey should not be involved in minor hockey...

No wonder Ottawa best players move to GTHL for 1 or 2 years.

Stupid league.

you live under a rock if you don't think Marty will make sure NN is in a wild card game. Marty is the colour guy for the Mem. Cup on sportsnet.

Both PP and NN have already been notified.

All this banter for what is statistically a 50% chance of winning the wild card play in game and getting into the actual tournament. And the actual odds are much less for any of those 3 at large wildcard teams seeing as the other 5 wildcard teams already guaranteed spots are likely stronger teams.

I think your missing the point, playing in the event is a great experience and provides the opportunity for the boys to showcase their skills in a few more games of competitive hockey. With the crossover of leagues in one game showdowns I wouldn't discount any team that gets an invite.

The old format is 16 teams + 4 wild cards.

Heo is not coming, so 5 wild cards spots!

DMF have the best chance of going deep at OHL Cup if given the chance

Yes with their one win in 2018 they are definitely the team to beat. They won’t get the chance to participate

DMF loss again last night. 1 Win in the last 17 games
What is wrong with this team in January, February and now March?

Because the executive are a bunch of puppets to the Jr. Clubs. Money over kids participation

The wild card team was the top team in Canada. They also did not go on a two month streak with 1 win. You are a nutso

NN invite - top 10 all year, 2nd in league, 1 bad weekend. Invite selection process pretty much invented for a team like this
PP invite - top 10 large part of the year, won the ETA -East reg season, multiple QF finishes at major tournies. Another no brainer

1 spot left.

Basically down to 5 teams 2 G, 1 O, 2 A, N 0. Lets assume DMF and TT lose their series.

DMF - top 10 all year, QF all major tournies, lost in Marlies finals. Beaten all top teams during the year. Terrible finish. Ranked 7MHR
TT - couple of tournies made in out of RR. Wins against TJC, Barrie, YSE, Marlies. Ranked 16th

GB/B45's - B45 ranked 46, GB ranked 50. nuff said. the loser of this game, is done

Wat - did not make it out of RR of any tournament this year, 0 wins against any top 20 team (except Brantford ranked 19), MHR 26. no chance
Elgin - Made it out of RR of 1 weak tourney, only significant out of league win was 1 win again Oakland. MHR 23. No chance.

DMF looks like a no brainer here?

Try this one.

BE as at large wildcard pick. Dominated PP and B99 recently while shutdown NN. Also beat GG twice and lost out on at least tie with them too late in another game.

3 ties and loss at SCTA playoffs weekend - team was missing top 3 forward that helped provide second scoring line and one of top offensive penalty killers which were both missed that weekend otherwise would have been BE going through and not GBH.

There are at least 5 F’s and a D in top 200 so in OHL interests to see more of them.

BE parent take a quick moment to think about what you wrote. If you had 5 F a 1 D in the top 200. You would already have qualified.
