A little disappointed with a couple of the Cyclones cuts today. This team could have been better.

I do not know the parents or the kid personally, but I will say he made at least a couple sweet plays .

Every now and again even a blind squirrel will find a nut

it is a new year, everyone starts with 0-0-0 record.
It is good that kids get a second chance, and the league gets a better team.
Just remember, no one is going to get paid to play. Have fun, and learn life lessons.
Which teams are set?

The game changes as kids get older, no longer individual that win games it is team work that wins. the sens looked really good

SENs will struggle this year

I do not know the parents or the kid personally, but I will say he made at least a couple sweet plays in the ex. games and is able to generate offense at this level without question. He will have no trouble getting an import spot if that's the direction they pursue. They have lots of players who can play physical, but not a lot who have those skills. It is a bold decision by the Sens. Not questioning it, because I have no clue of the backstory, but unfortunate for the kid if so. He's a good player. Hopefully he finds a good spot to land.

There's lots of good players that were cut it happens there are only 15 spots. Dad's a dingbat anyway kids ok a little full of himself but with that parent no doubt he would have a few social issues.

There's a few parents in that group you just described.

If the parents of the parent cut were less crazy and a little less openly critical of every other kid in the league... then maybe the kid would still be there. It seems that the association may be taking a stand on 1 set of problem parents. I am hearing a lot of history in this situation.

Or maybe.. just maybe... the player would not listen to the coaches instruction and they felt the 'team' would be better with players that will play as a team?

My belief is that the Sens will have a hard time to make up the offense... but I have been wrong before.

Lol they're all pluggers...

Last year the Sens were challenged on offense because they lacked depth and other teams could focus on their best players. It's unfair, however, to say that their best player are pluggers. Their top couple of point getters are as skilled as any kid this age in Ottawa.

Sens er Myers will be lucky to win a single game this year. You can't compete with 9 pluggers on offense. Dumb coach.

Sens have a few parents from both Kanata and Nepean who have issues.
Two parents come to mind from kanata who have big issues one D and one F . Being in overseas the last 2 weeks I am out of the loop.

In my opinion.. the new Kanata Goalie outplayed the Nepean Goalie in tryouts... and that is why he was chosen. I think that there is a chance he becomes the #1 for this team.

I think both goalies played great. The Sens would not have been wrong to take either one of them, and either one of them being cut should at least be looked at by a team seeking an import (they might not ultimately make it, but would be worth a look). That said, they are not catching up to the incumbent this year... maybe that is not as clear in the very small sample of games they played during tryouts, but if you looked at the goalie skills evaluation session the gap would stand out more.
